No gas in New Mexico

A State of Emergency has been declared in the state since New Mexico Gas Company announced this morning that due to outages along the Texas pipelines, natural gas would be cut off in most of the state. Last night, areas around here dropped to between 20 and 35 below (although we're only expected to go to 10 below tonight). It will be a minimum of 48 hours before partial service is restored.

That is INSANE! I also heard that electricity is being purchased from Mexico as the power plants need to shut down due to this outage of natural gas.

Doug I know how cold it can get up there I used to live in Embudo right on the river in the canyon. but we had Propane, same when I lived in Moriarity, in Santa Fe we were Gas fed, But hey at least it's a dry cold (right) I don't care when it get under -20 it's cold period.
Bundle up and stoke the fire, there was a good reason for the old Horno ovens in the corners of the older Adobes.

Doug do you mean the chilie or the apples??Green Chilie and Red apples, YUP Viva Nueva Mexico, I sure wish I'd never left NM. I miss it more each year.

We went through several power outages in the Austin TX area and the rest of the state yesterday. Root cause was several power plants that shut down because of severe cold. The outages caused lots of problems for computers and applications that crashed. The cold weather broke standpipes and water pipes that flooded several customers warehouses and factories.

"New Mexico Gas Company is speaking for the first time about why tens of thousands of New Mexicans have no natural gas service. The company blames supply and demand, and a lack of pressure to push the gas through the pipelines.
Power blackouts in Texas have cut off power to compressors in West Texas that feed gas into New Mexico.
With the low pressure and high demand for natural gas, the gas utility says it's impossible to supply everyone.
Up to 24,000 people across the state are doing without natural gas."

Sorry to hear of your troubles. if it is any consolation. I didn't have a furnace for over, not until a week or so ago.

Kalamazoo, Michigan makes more furnaces than any other state in the union and YOU DON'T HAVE ONE????? What'd you do wrong?

Well the old one died, and I wish I learned about it back in August. however I think I ended up with a good deal in the end.

I don't think K-zoo has any furnace companies anymore. Kinda like they don't have any Guitar manufactures, or fishing rods and reels manufactures.
