Here we have today's casting attempt. It went a LOT better than previous attempts, the bubbles were again the only issue. I bathed the resin in hot water and kept it in hot water while I added my pigments. Got the MKEP back where it needed to be and skipped hitting it with the space heater. I'm not sure what else I can do to stop bubbles from forming right now, I guess it's just going to have to wait until I get back into regular PR. This one will end up getting scrubbed off the tube and re-done. AGAIN. This tube has been used on about 5 different blanks now. It makes it a lot cheaper to continue experimenting. I'll keep working on it until I get ti just right. The photos don't really convey just how much shimmer is in this resin. The gold really lights up.
 
How about if you were to drill the blank, then turn between centers(no tube) then get a piece of dowel that would fit inside the drilled blank with different colors of paint(let's you see what would happen if reverse painting the tube that color).

No tube = no glue drying time.



Are you casting vertically? In PVC pipe or something?
