I know it's been a little over a year since our old friend Hank Lee (leehlp) has posted. I'm wondering if he is still in Japan . . . . and, if so, is he okay.

Has anybody heard from him? He lived in Toyota, Japan.

I just heard from Hank. He and his wife have been back in the states since December. He said that he's been incredibly busy and hasn't turned a pen in a year.

He sends best wishes to all of his IAP friends. Here's an interesting excerpt from his email:

"Tell everyone that I am safe and am back home. I do have three friends in Sendai. They are all safe. I will say that the news and Japanese officials are being EXTREMELY conservative in their reporting. Part of it is to prevent mass panic, but the most part is the cultural nature of Japanese officials and news to greatly understate problems. The bigger concern now is the nuclear plants. They are in more danger than the news and officials are stating. Japanese state things for the intention of the listener to read between the lines."

It is definitely wonderful to know that Hank and his family are safe. It is also certainly disconcerting to think that the risk is considerably greater to the Nuclear plant than all are being led to believe. I continue to pray that they can bring that situation under control and there won't be another Chernobyl type disaster on the horizon. God's speed to all those who are working in harms way, those who have already been affected by this tragedy and those who are at risk.

Hank came back from Japan in December. He is busy unpacking and remodeling his home and hasn't had much shop time. He has been posting over on BT3Central the past month or so. He has said it will be a couple of months before he gets his shop in order to turn pens. Hi is as busy in retirement as he was working and living in Japan.

Thanks for the posting! I was a bit worried - but thought he was supposed to come back to the States end of 2010. Thanks.

Good news, I thought he was coming back near the end of the year, glad he's home safe and sound. so that's one less we have to worry about, but I imagine he feels rather horrible considering all the people he ministered to that are still there.
