I like looking at workshop photos that others post, so here are mine.

Just finishing up a basement reno in our 1936 era home. This workshop was the old drive-in garage, now closed in on the 'bandsaw end'. The only bad thing about this room – 6'6" headroom. Lots of 'scars' on the ceiling...

Think he's fibbing...That's got to be the wifes new kitchen and he's just saving his tools from flooded basement?

Lucky devil you....Looks great......NOW - Go make some sawdust to break it in....
 
If I can find my tools to move them outside, come on over. I'll have a case of your fav adult beverage on ice for when you are finished. I hope your wife doesn't find your shop or she'll take it and give you the kitchen. That is beautiful!!
 
DANG! Very professional looking. If you have a website take pictures now before you mess it all up. Great job. Wish I had something that nice.

Great renovation and professional job, now that question that no one want to ask, did you do it yourself or you have it done by a builder...???:confused:

Don't answer if you want to keep the doubt otherwise, if it was your doing, you should be proud of it and everyone should know about it, if not, doesn't matter how many of other people out there wouldn't have a hope in hell or the natural ability or physical capabilities to ever do such a thing, either way, top job...!:wink:

PS: Sorry mate but I spotted a considerable slice of "goodies" on the second last pic, just under the lathe, against the bench so, could you please explain or gives as a better close-up pic, please. Thanks!

Well, many thanks for all your kind comments.

The floor is just acrylic latex over 75 year old concrete, first de-oiled and scrubed with TSP. The paint has been down since May, and despite fairly heavy use, is 'hanging in there'. It was a bit of an experiment.

Mr Vic -- laughed out loud at your comment -- we did have a (minor) flood in the basement last winter, but didn't lose anything expensive. It's the price we pay for living on the 'wet coast' of Canada.

Achennau -- the long end of the bed usually has a sheet of plywood that goes to the wall, and is covered with all the junk we use. You can tell I've cleaned up for these shots ... :rolleyes:

Robutacion -- Yeah, I did everything except the wiring -- there is a new 100 amp panel above the workbench, and I wouldn't trust myself with that. The burl just a slice of birds eye maple.

It took me two years of plugging away in my spare time, though. So all you kind folks who invited me over to work on yours -- it's gonna be slow :wink:

Wow you have a floor?? They tell me my shop does, I just can't find it, That is a nicely laid out shop, congratulations on a great job, would you like to do mine??

Great Job, nice looking shop. A 2 year project and patience that has paid off. Is Iowa too far too come to help me with mine?

Steve can you come up here & move my tablesaw & planer out to the shop extension, since you do such a great job organizing? LOL, Great looking shop
 
You did a great job. I only live down the coast from you and I would help you do my shop. Closer then the other folks offering you the opportunity to do their shops.LOL
