Hi guys and gals.
I'd like to introduce you to Glen and his wife Sharon of G&S Creations here in Houston.
They had the unfortunate occasion to be placed next to me at a recent arts and craft show. Yea, that's right, two penturners next to each other, not across the hall but right next to each other. Before it was all said and done we were friends. Right? Right!
I thought that by now he would have introduced himself, however, seems he may be a bit on the shy side.
So, Glen jump in here and say Hi to the group, and the rest of the group, please welcome Glen as you have others.
Thanks,
Vern

Welcome Glen and Sharon. This really is a great place to hang out. I have never heard of anyone getting bitten but a few have gotten chewed on from time to time. Don't take some of the conversations here to seriously it really is friends giving friends a hard time.
There is a lot of info to digest so take your time and enjoy.

Good to hear from you vern, and thanks for the introduction. For those of you who know verne, you should have seen the look on his face when he showed up at the show to set up next to me. Actually, it was the best thing that could happen to me. Verne and i hit it off after a few tense minutes. He gave me ideas, websites, and a great deal of in-sight in pen turning. So verne, a big thank you, but i will steal some of your design ideas! Hi to all.

Welcome Glenn and Sharon! Join in the fun here.

I know you are skilled by the fact that you are selling at shows and you don't need all the information that is in the links below that I am posting. But we try to post this to everyone that joins in here at IAP.

Here is a link that has postings by different pen turners concerning what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link to a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens. It may help some.

The last is a link of Acronyms that we use regularly to keep from typing so much!

Hope these help.

And a belated welcome from another Houston member.....Pearland actually. Hope to see you at our next Houston meeting on Dec 12. Watch this thread for info
