Newbie at 83 yrs old

Hope I get it right this time.
Hi, my name is Max Taylor. I am a woodturner. I have turned about 100 slimlines, and want to 'move up a notch'. Looking to purchase some of those killer blanks I see on here.
Oh, yes, I was introducing myself. I live in Ft. Worth Tx. on the east side north of I30. would welcome a visit from some of you. Are there any 'get togethers' planned in this area?
