I didn't get it from this site, but it has the better pics of the unit. Now I need to order some stuff to put inside it so I can play.

One of my first experiments will be to see at what temp a brass tube starts deforming.

Are you thinking about PMC or glass Cloisonné? The Bronze Pmc is reasonably priced and very hard after firing.

short answer, Yes....... To both...... among other things.

I'm planning on using the Art Clay Copper for my first experiments. No carbon needed and shorter firing time, plus low cost.

Good luck with it, I have wanted to do this for years, after watching them make things up at the John C Campbell folk school in kilns similar to the one you are looking at. I have seen them make jewelry with the kilns on copper or silver and always wondered why we couldnt do the same thing for pens. One of the instructors there thought it was a great idea!
