Hello from beautiful Hiawassee, GA!

I have turned just a few pens in the past on my then new Jet Mini Lathe made in 1998. It does not even have variable speed. I just purchased a used (less than two years old and less than ten hours) Robust Scout lathe for a fantastic price and am looking forward to getting more knowledge and experience.

Welcome to IAP Mike. I have been using a Jet Mini W/O variable speed for 10 years - I still like it very much; I also have a Nova, but the Jet gets regular use. However, the Scout is a beast of a machine and you will be very happy with it! Good for you.

GA is Georgia, USA. Hiawassee is in the northeast corner of the state.
