Hello all,
I am a new member and I just bought a lathe and tools to turn pens. I have no experience with woodworking but am having a great time learning. I love this forum. I am trying to learn as much as I can. Thanks for providing valuable information.

Welcome Juan. Glad to have you here. But its a slippery slope, ya know. Especially when the holidays come - and all your friends want . . .

Anyway, below are links to two threads/articles that have lots of information on pen turning. The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.
http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42446

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't.

Welcome Juan! Hope you enjoy pen turning and join in the fun here. Show us how to make a pen by watching from a mirror.  Just kidding!

Welcome to the addiction. I had no prior experience with wood or any working with tools really. Have fun with it and welcome to the community here. Try to only check this site 1 or 2 times a day haha. (good luck with that). Makes me wonder how many times we do check this site in a day ?:befuddled:
