Quit drinking years ago. I ponder how much $$$$$ I spend on beer and scotch; don't care for bourbon. I could outfit a big building with top woodworking equipment tools. I do spend time with my puppies while watching the Braves. Right now, it's the Little League regionals and then the LLWS. Then, back to the Braves!

I like a good Scotch on occasion but prefer Bourbon. I don't drink nearly what I used to when I was younger but I enjoy it on occasion, typically accompanied by a fine cigar. I enjoy my dogs company all the time. Go on long walks, watch tv etc. I like the Braves also. Not sure my dog is also a fan.

Beautiful fur babies. The three of them.
I'm giving my dog her favorite treat when
I spend the day with her drinking bourbon.
She doesn't drink but she enjoys freeze dried white meat chicken cut up in small pieces. My cats love it also.

Is the one on the far right a Belgian Malinois?
Good question!

Ike is a retired K9 officer we adopted this past winter. He's from a working line of Belgian Tervurens which does have some Malinois in the lineage. The pup sitting next to him is from more of a show line of Tervurens. He's currently in training with my wife to be her service dog.

I see the Belgian coming through. Ours are both Belgians- we've had three total. A great/smart breed.
I had a Mal when I was in my 30s. Used to do Schutzhund work with him.

My wife and I did some Schutzhund with the female GSD in the photo and a male GSD who is no longer with us. She works FT as a trainer.

Are you doing agility work with your Mals? They require a whole lotta work!

The one with the Kong is a working canine. The other one is my personal pet. They are high energy dogs and we take them out for play a couple of times a day. They need lots of simulation, but they're the best…if you give them your time.

That's very cool. I would love to do something like that with my girl, but I do spend time with her daily.

Our Maggie isn't with us anymore... at 13 she got a cancer in her hind leg that swelled to the size of a baseball.... Vet said only thing to do was take her leg off, but I couldn't do that to her... she liked to run and play too much.... as you can see she's a good nurse dog... LOML was recovering from hip replacement and Maggie was comforting her. She was part Jack Russell and who knows what else.... some sorry person abandoned her as a puppy along with her brother on the side of the road and a local lady that lived nearby picked them up... we only took Maggie and someone else got the brother. She had her house on the front porch where she slept at night.... she didn't like to sleep inside the house, except when our neighbor "Andy Oakley" started shooting then she was knocking on the door to come in. She would knock for thunder and fireworks too.... she liked being in the house with us, but at bedtime she wanted out to her own house.
Before "Andy" (we don't know his real name, just call him Andy Oakley because of all the gun fire) moved in and put in a new modular after the original house "burned down one night", another neighbor that lived there and was killed in a bar fight and his wife moved away to Florida and abandoned his dog, a big black Pitbull.... Maggie brought him home and let him sleep on a wicker sofa we had on the front porch... they became inseparable until he disappeared.

Maggie has been gone nearly 3 years now and we still talk about her and miss her. She was our official greeter when some landed in the driveway.

So sorry to hear your fur baby passed away. My dog has environmental allergies and sees a board certified vet dermatologist. I've spent about $3000 in the past year but she's doing much better. It seems that cancer and allergies are becoming more common in dogs in the last 20 or so years. I wonder if it's the foods sold these days or something environmental. They are family and not just pets as far as I'm concerned.

I know what it's like to lose a best friend, so sorry for your loss. Dogs are so special.
