Hello fellow turners. I got my first lathe about 6 months ago and promptly got so busy at work that I've only gotten to do about 6 projects (other than practice "boppers" in the beginning) since then. It's VERY fun to turn bowls and such, but recently I decided that pens might make nice gifts for my family members and decided to try a few. I kept hearing about this addiction but never believed it....NOW I DO!
This really is fun to do, and every pen (about 5 so far) is a great learning experience. I've gotten a CA process that I feel gives me a great finish, but will most likely keep experimenting just because. I never realized how much of a perfectionist I can be until I started this. You all post such great pens, that I can't keep myself from striving for perfection like what I see on these pages.
Thanks a lot for sucking me in!
When I think I get one that's worthy, I'll be posting a pic...
