I asked a week or so ago for input on a good click pen. I wanted a long tube so I could cast a tobacco leaf with a cigar band and sub band. As you can see I went with the Berea Blade. The total weight of the pen is a hair on the light side but other that that I like it. The day I received the kits I found out Woodcraft has the same kit under a different name, the Tenacious. I received the wrong bushings for the Blade so I bought the bushings for the Tenacious and they worked great. I'll make a few more of these and see how people respond to them. Thanks for the earlier input and questions and comments are welcome.

Sure. It's a very simple kit and everything I saw was metal. They said they didn't carry extra click mechanisms because they would never fail. I guess time will tell.

Beware that the Woodcraft "Tenacious" is significantly more expensive than the Berea "Blade".
The two kits seem to be identical in every respect.

I still have one more Blade to turn so I didn't look at Woodcraft prices. I don't know anything about the actual pen kit makers to know if it's possibly the same kit with a different name or just same dimensions. I might have to try a couple since they're local and I can get my hands on one quick if need be.

How is the click mechanism?? Is that the Schmidt click ?/ What is the allowable meat left on the blank after turned for a lack of a better word. Looking to cast clicks. Thanks.

I didn't look at the blank when I was finished turning but the shoulder on the bushing led me to feel comfortable cast the leaf and bands. They advertised the Schmidt but I wouldn't know it if I saw one. It was all metal.
