My Dad has a Lathe that must be at least 20 years old. He is looking to purchase a new chuck, like a nova midi, but cannot find any with an insert that will match his thread, which is 3/4" x 8 tpi.

Anyone else out there have this problem, and if so how did you get around it.

Thanks,

JP

I did a pretty extensive search and did not find any converters or much reference for this threading. I am not saying it does not exist but I could not find it.

You may want to see if you can have a machinist make you and adapter 3/4 x 8tpi to 1x8 or 3/4 x16.

On the forum we have a couple machinest that you may want to contanct to see if they are interested.
A couple that come to mind are Paul in OK, Bruce Boone, SWOODWRKNG. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Thanks again for the info. I will pass all along to my dad.

Just a cursory glance though did not reveal any 3/4" x 8TPI Adapters.

I will keep looking.

Thanks again for all the responses.
