So I got burls (they aren't stabilized) and I've only ever turned 1 stabilized burl before. Questions:
1. Do they need to be stabilized? Or can I turn it as is and just be careful with it?
2. What do you all do about worm holes? Put ca in it, resin (never used before)? How do you fill them?
3. What do you do with blanks like this? (See picture)

Thanks in advance for the advice,
Rafael

I've seen people fill those voids with coffee grounds then drop CA on it. You can turn the blank and saturate with thin CA as you go. Just keep it covered with CA. If you run into more voids along the way, fill them with shavings and CA. Hit each coat of CA with accelerator to help speed the process.

As Chuck said, coffee grounds in the cavities and add CA. . Keep a close watch as you turn and only turn off a little bit at at time.
Add CA (and more coffee if necessary) as you turn the blank down, keeping a watchful eye for more cavities appearing.

You should be able to turn the blank you show in this way.

Same approach for worm holes.
