So a good friend of mine just got back from an out of state hunting trip and brough me a gift at my request, a 1 gallon bag of Pheasent and Quail feathers. Problem is they are still attached to the skin and head, yes he gave me a nasty bag. My question is how do I remove the feathers w/out damaging them and then how do I clean them. Also, do feathers have to "dry"?
I was going to post a pic but thought I better not.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well you will probably get more answers then mine but when my granddad and myself use to pluck the birds. He always filled a big pot with almost boiling water.drop the birds infor a few min and then take them out.The feathers will pull right off.I am not sure the rest of the prep.Sorry!Good luck!!

I was reading that this would damage the feathers.
