Need help with my new blog

I have to create a blog for one of my school classes so i thought, what better to do it about then penturning!!!

I have a few questions though:

What restrictions are there of referencing IAP and perhaps posting its link and logo just with in a blog post (not forever on a page)?

Would any of you be willing to let me post your pictures(of pens) for some blogs as examples? (you volunteer so i dont have to nag people about using their beautiful work)
And what restrictions and such are on those? as long as i reference those people im good right?

Other than a beginners category and an advanced category, what other should i do? perhaps a gallery? vendors links, etc?

Do any of the vendors want some free advertising? I have to figure out how to market my site well so you might get a little bit of free traffic out of it... All i would do is make a post about "where to find all the beginners essentials" or something simple like that.

Ill post the url once it gets going a bit more. as of right now all i have is wordpress and a theme installed so its not much for eye candy...

Also! if any of you guys want to post a few things here and there on the blog, i can add you guys as admins so you can post whatever you want to get some traffic looking at your pens!

Also, for those of you with blogs or a firm understanding of them, do i need to contact companies before i create a post about them? such as craft supplies and such?

As long as you're not slandering them or using images from their site or catalog, you can mention them in your blog and even talk about their products.

You also need to check out (Google them) backlinks, trackbacks and get accounts set up with Technorati and Stat Counter to help manage and drive traffic to your blog.
