I am trying to wire an old motor to run the beall buffing system on and can't figure it out. I got the motor in an estate sale with a bunch of other stuff. It worked when I got it but it was not grounded. I want to wire it to run counterclockwise and have the switch next to it for ease of operation. I have wired the switch and put a 3-prong plug on the end under the table to plug into the power strip underneath.

The motor is a 1/3 hp, 115 v, 60 hz, 1750 rpm Packard motor. It has three screws to attach the wires to, numbered as shown in the photo. It's not really clear in the photo, but the wire to #2 has a white braided insulation with black spots, #3 has black braided insulation and #4 has 2 wires, one white braided with black spots and one white braided with green dashes (3 spots together).

Anybody got any idea on what I should do? I don't want to fry the motor or hurt myself just trying to get this thing to go. TIA for any help.
