Need help with an idea

A guy I work with was with two squadrons in Vietnam. I was going to make a pen for him. My idea was to put one squardron decal on the back of the pen and the other on the front. Kind of like: Clip, decal, space, decal. Or should I put one on the barrel and one on the nip?

really depends on the size of the decals and size of pen. Can you get one each side of the clip?

I recently made pens for two Vietnam vets. I put the Insignia (?) and their name and rank on the same side. This worked well on these. Any more info and I would have used both sides.
