I have heard good and bad about that site. Most guys on a machinist board I frequent are a bit leary of it for whatever reason. I have not dealt with them myself, but did look once to have some things made, just decided to do it myself.

Both sites look to be very useful and might meet a need I have. I suspect the reason the guy on the machinst board are leery is because Virtual Machinist might present competition. Just a guess.

Not really, I don't think. There is a fee to be in the emachine bunch. From what I here it is hefty. Have to do a lot of work to make it up. I have seen the virtual site a few times over the last few years. It has some interesting stuff on it.
But hey, that's what I do, so....I love to make widgets when time allows.
