Natural edged... thing?

I'm not sure what to call it... not a bowl, not a vase... just a "form" maybe. Anyhow, it was a fun learning experience.

It was from a chunk of what I'm guessing to be redwood root burl found on the beach. Measures about 4" tall by 4 1/2" in diameter.
