I have had a funky piece of maple laying around the shop for a couple of years. The maple was from a section of limb where the limb had been resting against another limb and looked like it might have some interesting characteristics. I finally got tired of tripping over it and decided to turn it. I was concerned that it was going to give way around the dark area that you can see on the side, so I soaked the crack with thin CA to stabilize the bowl. It held together and I was able to keep it in one piece. Finished with shellac. The Bowl is approximately 6" in diameter and 3" tall.

The hazards in your shop are much nicer than the hazards in my shop. I trip over crooked two by sixs and odd shaped pieces of OSB.

Beautiful Natural Edge Bowl, Cody
Nice Shape, and Finish.
Great Accents with the Inclusions.
I know it is an Optical Illusion but from the Overhead Photograph, the Bowl looks "Oval".
I also expect that you will take the Credit for the Illusion so "Well Done".
Love the Natural Edge, Congratulations on Retaining the Bark.
Excellent Work.
Brian.
