Ok, I've been trying to narrow down some difficulty I have with CA finish and it occurs to me that it mainly happens on Texas Ebony. I know this is an oily wood, so acetone is used to "clean" it. I'm curious if anyone else has any experience with texas ebony that would lead to a hint/tip/trick?

Thanks:)

I've had trouble with Texas ebony and a number of other oily woods. Acetone or CA accelerator both seem to work well for cleaning the surface.

I turn a lot of texas ebony (scored a bunch of it locally), and have had no problems with a CA/BLO finish. I put on about 6 or 7 coats and it turns out fine.
