Hi Catherine. The thin veneer is 3 layers that I glued up myself (no acrylic):

Dyed 3 Square Foot Veneer Packs - Rockler Woodworking Tools

The ends are Walnut. 15 coats of Pens Plus.

NICE! Really nice. Sometimes a combination of wood/segmenting and hardware comes together to make a special pen. This is one of those times.
