Ok, I notice just about everyone uses the CA method, including me. I like the look and smooth finish. What would you guys/gals use Mylands on? Seems like the CA finish would last longer. Opinions please. Thanks.
Any friction polish such as Mylands, which is shellac based, is good to use for items that will hot get daily handling. Items such as most nonpen turnings are good candidates.Several coats can be built up giving a very deep and brilliant shine. Too many use friction polish incorrectly. Friction polish is called that for a reason; friction causing heat is used to evaporate the solvent and leave the shellac behind. If the friction is not causing heat then the friction is not enough. And, also, less is better...several thin coats are much better than one or two thick slopped on coats of friction polish.
Do a good turn daily!

I use it on decorative bowls, vases, desk pen/business card holders, candle sticks, anything too big to put CA on, or something that is not being handled like a pen is. Not on tool handles, pens, etc. I have even used it on cherry wood canes...four or five thin coats.
