Aloha Everyone,
Besides pens,i make Ukuleles,jewelry boxes,picture frames etc. So when I get koa,I order enough to last a couple months.The longest boards are 90"l x 5" w x 2.25" t.Thank goodness he had all curly.The far left is for pens,it is curly and about 48"l x 5"w x 2.25"t. Right next to that my guy gave me a nice lenght of Ohia. The other wood he gave me is something he has a hard time getting which is Curly Sugi pine(japanese cedar) Boy that buggah get some aroma.Turned a pen last night for him as a thankyou out of it and post a pic some time today

A freind gave me a hunk of what he believs is Koa......I have never seen the stuff. It looks NOTHING like what you have pictured! The piece I have is a sorta rust/chocolate color.......I think that boy smokes to much weed!

There are actualy many different variations of koa,mine are from a younger tree so its alot more blonde. Koa can look chocolate/rusty. Also another wood passed off by some jokers as koa is chocolate heart albizia.I hopefully will be getting some this afternoon. In some cases it looks alot like a dark curly koa

Yup love that sticker,when I was stationed in Norfolk in the early 80s my volkswagen had a similar one,I not Late,Im on Hawaiian Time.
