My step-mother pass away Sunday.

I had a call from my sister in Texas... My step mother passed away late Sunday night. She was 102, the oldest resident at the local assisted living facility in Corsicana. My father passed away in 1989 just short of their 28th anniversary. She had suffered from dementia and near blindness the past 6 or 8 years. Her sons only came occasionally to see her. My sister and her sons looked after her and saw to her needs for the past 10 or 12 years after she moved into the assisted living facility.

It seems a lot of us are busy with these activities... My in-laws, 89, 88, my Mom 84. All... independent, but needing support.
