most folks carry the wood inside the shop to turn...
i like your method of bringing it in throuh the walls, you can cut and turn all at once..[

Be sure to slab off a hunk of that thing (is it a big maple? I cant tell) and make something as a momento of what tried to kill you-- show it who's boss.
