My Neighbour returned from some time spent in the south east of West Australia and he brought me some wood back for looking after his garden.
The wood was some lovely fiddleback jarrah, which is still untouched. A log of Jam tree (Acacia accuminata) and a couple of bits of Salmon Gum branch.
I made these two items from one of the Salmon gum pieces, a Flatish dish, and the vase from the Jam wood.
The Jam was very cracked so this vase is absolutely for decoration only and measures 8.5 x 3.5 and the walls are 1/8 inch thick. Finished with linseed oil.
The Salmon dish is 7" x 6" x 2.5" high and finished with Krylon Varnish. Love the crotch section in the grain.
C & C Welcome.
Thanks for looking.
Bob.
