My Mission...large lumber find

I had to get a picture of these 2 Maple trees that are awaiting my saw. All I need now is the go ahead. Both of these are over 4 feet across. Both have numerous burls around the edges. The sad thing is all of the trees on this lot are being shredded into mulch. They must be rescued!

If it were me, I'd just go ask for them.

The people who shreds it may even cut and load them for you FREE! Much faster and easier for them than shredding it.

That root ball area/burl even shows sign of spalting already. Good find, hope you "rescue" them all (if not at least the best parts).

If its a city or state job good luck with getting them to see your side of the story. These guys on the machines are making to much money per hour to stop and deal with a guy just wanting to rescue some great lumber. Its really a shame so many trees go to the chipper in large cities. I will not let them stop me I will find some way to rescue as much as I can in this life time. Great job on getting those huge girls and keep it up. Post pics when you crack them open if you want to share. Cracking maples like oysters never know when pearl will fall out. Good luck Sir, Victor

Its a private company but hard to find them when they're on the lot. Im going to check back tomorrow. I'll post pics if I score!
