For various reasons, I have not had much shop time at all this year nor have I been able to spend much time on IAP, but I finally finished this project that I started last February.

This is a set of pens that I made in honor of my 7 yo great niece, Abigail Arias, who is battling terminal cancer. Her desire was to become a police officer, so Freeport, TX Police Chief, Raymond Garivey made her an honorary member of the Freeport Police Department. Since his "adoption" of Abigail, she is now an honorary Texas Ranger and an honorary member of a number of other law enforcement agencies around the country. She and her parents have established a foundation to benefit other families of children with cancer.

One pen was for Chief Garivey and one was for Abigail's awesome brother, Ethan. The rest were for her parents to use as they wish.

Many thanks to my awesome buddy, Cody Walker (cwalker935) who cast these photos for me. I'm sorry it took so long to complete this project & post these photos.

I never really forget that my life is blessed, but sometimes i'm more aware of it. This is one of those times. Best wishes Edgar.

(seems like a good night to head out for some buttered pecan ice cream!!)

Wow... great job Edgar. I work at a cancer clinic so anything that has to do with this terrible disease hits me right in the heart. Thank you for doing this, Abigail and her family will be more touched than you'll ever know.

The pens are great and I'm sure they are most appreciated. The story is heartbreaking. Abigail and her family will be in my prayers
