My first pen

This is my first proper pen. I did make pencil last week but that was a gentle introduction using a pre-made blank with the tube already included so I'm not counting that .

It's made from English Elm burl with the cap stained blue. Finished with CA. Until I made this pen, and read the articles on finishing advice on this forum, I had no idea you could add a load of superglue to wood like this.

It really does look good. If you don't mind sharing, what did you use to stain the top? Nice rich color. Any additional detail - i.e. type, number of coats stain, drying time etc. - would be appreciated.
