My first kitless fountainpen

Made this pen from mapleburl and ebonite.

Beautifully done. I really like the dyed maple burl.

How did the maple burl cap take the threads?

Did you have to CA them or use an ebonite insert?

The body has a ebonite insert. I made an insert for the cap. But did not use it. Wall thickness to thin or outer diameter becomes to big.
So I put the thread direct in the stabilezed wood. Very easy job. The finish is CA. The pen is very light.

I'm new to Kitless and have not thought I'm skilled/experienced enough for wood with inserts as of yet.

The next one will be plastic or ebonite. I think that will save me a lot of time.
