Odd how the purpleheart looks brown...I'm fairly new to this - does that happen often?

Yes it happens alot. the best thing to do is put it in the sun for a while. The stoppers look great. I really like the corian.

Does the sun replenish the - for lack of a better word - purpleness?

Yes it does.....whenever it is cut or worked on a lathe, the brown will reappear.....time in the light will bring back the purple.

I know heat/light will bring out the purple.... but does using it on a bottle in the fridge(cold) affect it?
