My Cup Runneth Over

Here is a little cup I made yesterday. I'm not sure just what kind of wood it is. This is the first time I've tried a project like this. I like the way it came out. I used my 2R carbide insert cutter for the whole project except for parting it off. I sanded to 4000 mm and finished with 20 coats of WTF. All C&C are welcome. Thanks for looking

I would say either Maple or Cherry. Nice job, what is Evelyn going to use it for?

Thank you so much Ed and Bob for you very nice comments. Ed those are not shavings, I cleaned up the shop and didn't have any so I used some turbinado sugar for the effect. Bob I'm working on another project today but it not to match this one.
