These are two pens my kids made for me on my birthday on Monday. The one on top is Azurite & Malachite Tru-Stone It was made by my dauhter she is 13 and the other is Gaspaite tru-stone It was made by my son that is 11. They both had my help. I really like the Ultra Cigar kit. I am not just a seller I have been turning for years mostly bowls but I find pens to be very relaxing. All coments welcomed. Thanks Rod

That is impressive that your youngster are getting into it. I see you switched out the gold nib for the chrome one...something I am considering as I don't think the stock kit looks right with non matching nib and clip. Not a fan of bright green, but that is just me I guess. Workmanship looks spot on though.
 
Even with a bit of help from dad, you should be very proud of what they have done. Of course, the time you spent with them is the priceless part and those cool pens will become the reminder:biggrin:
 
those are definitely keepers. hope my grandaughter who is almost 5 will be able to do that. She is waiting to get just a bit bigger before I let her on the lathe.
