Really happy with how this kit turned out. Beaufort cyclone fountain pen kit. The pen body is made of pecan harvested from a tree that grew next to George Washington's mansion at Mt. Vernon and was felled in 2014 to avoid it damaging the home. Pecan is great for large pieces, but kind of dull for a pen, so I inlaid abalone shell and tried my hand at segmenting for the first time by adding a small tagua nut cap on both ends of the cap and body. I love how tagua nut works and its ivory-like appearance, though I think its beauty is lost a little bit here given it is so small. I will look for ways to incorporate it into other pens. Finish is melamine lacquer and carnauba wax. A gift for a colleague.

Nice job on that.
I am very fond of the Cyclone with it's wider nib. mind you, I'm very fond of all Beaufort Ink kits.
