I wanted to announce that MPG 2015 will now be a sponsored event. My AAW chapter, Central Illinois Woodturners, is sponsoring the event. It still remains the policy of the hall to require deposits, but this year they added a second one. $100 clean up deposit, $500 damage deposit. The club is signing over those checks. If we leave a clean, undamaged building like the past 7 years, those checks get returned.
In a measure of caution, any vendor table will now require a $100 security deposit as well. The likelihood of damage increases as carts of product are brought into the building and with the use of hall tables. Once again, if we leave a clean, undamaged building, those checks will be returned or shredded. If this deposit represents a hardship to you because you just want to sell a few excess blanks to fund your trip, please discuss it with me.
Let me know if you want a vendor table, or know of someone I can contact that may be interested. The vendor list should be published as soon as possible to provide them with maximum exposure. Confirmed so far is Exotic Blanks and Coers Custom Woodworking. One past supplier and one new one are in process.
