I made a pen similar to this one recently and a customer requested a similar pen, with a little more rounded finials and different section.

Ebonite polishes up beautifully and has a warm feel, I encourage everyone to try turning and threading some, it is quite an experience. Maybe peg your nose though..
The last picture shows a small portion of threads removed from the inside of the cap.
Still using single start tap and die, I found that it took forever to uncap a pen. I use a 14 mm bit and gently remove the first few threads, continually checking that I end up with one and a half rotations to close the pen. Works well! Also with single start, you can line up the grain and every time you cap the pen, it lines up.
