Hey all,
I'm another who's recently dusted off the lathe and figured I should post something that I'd been meaning to but never got around to.
This is a Mother's Day present I made for my wife a couple years ago.
The roses are made from some 2" dowel from the big box store. I turned the profiles and then did a little carving with a dremel to form the petals. They're dyed with Rit dye and finished with Pen's Plus since it's what I had handy. The stems are from some silk flowers.
The vase is bocote and is about six and a half inches tall, also finished with Pen's Plus. It's just hollowed out a couple inches so you don't easily see the bottom and there are three holes drilled deeper that hold the flowers.
Questions and Comments of course welcome!
