Here's another of Brooks blanks. I'm calling this one Molten Copper (until he comes up with a better name ). Paired with a copper cigar kit. This blank has a spot where the color didn't get mixed and you can see where I painted the inside of the blank white. I really like the look and you can see some real depth in the blank because of it. Question, if you were to see this pen as a customer, would you consider it a defect in the pen or part of the uniqueness of something handmade? Again, I really like the way it looks and I don't want this to be interpreted in any way as something against Jonathon, just looking for objective opinions. Thanks for the input and looking at this post!

I'd say it's a defect. You probably need to send it to me, I'll take care of it... lol

Honestly, I'd consider it part of the uniqueness of the blank. That's just me...

I would consider it a defect as a pen maker, but a customer wouldn't know the difference. They would think it is the way it's supposed to be. It looks great!

As long as you point it out to the customer, before selling, let THEM decide.

I'm pretty certain you would find someone who was THRILLED that it showed the "human" angle of hand produced---

As a turner, I'd be unhappy with it. I can't speak for a customer. You can avoid that in the future by using Ceramcoat copper pearl acrylic paint instead of white.
