Looking for a recommendation on a moisture meter. Lignomat with 2 pins? for like $120? Cheapies for 20-40 not worth it, or will do the job just fine? Im looking to check my blocks before they go off to the stabilizer. Whats your experience?

Thanks Larry

I got the Lignomat with 2 pins for around $120. When I was buying my moisture meter it was for flat work and based on the recommendations I got from folks on wood working forums.

You need a good one not the $30-40 for the moisture you are trying to check(for stabilizing).I had a cheap one and its fine for turning blocks in my opioion, but not for flat stock or something that you need to be sure of what moisture the wood is.I sold my cheap one to a memeber a year or more ago.In the new American Woodworker they did a samll write up on the mini-Ligno,and it was a good one.I think its the one I will be buying as the $300 pinless is just to much monet at the moment.Good Luck,Victor
