Something new and a little different at least for me. I got an inquiry from a guy in Kansas City asking if I could replace the yellow "Soft Touch" material on the upper barrel of his Locman Italian roller-ball pen with black marble or black wood. The upper barrel is very thin SS with yellow Soft-Touch paint. After telling him that "adding" a different material was not feasible and some other back and forth discussions we agreed that I could make him an entirely new upper barrel in stainless steel and black marble. Here is the result.
This is the pen as received.

A photo the customer took and sent to me. Note the yellow finial on the cap. It consists of a yellow adhesive tape "like" layer over a screw that holds the clip in then a soft clear plastic "lens" over that.

The result of my mod/make new barrel

A close up, note the new black finial in the cap. Glued the lens in with black epoxy.

Cleaned up the original barrel and returned it with the pen so now he has options.

Will put processing details in an "Advanced Pen Making" thread.
C&C appreciated.
