Here is the end of this years salmon run, all the white fish are the dead salmon and there are plenty of others right beside them not ready to give it up. In a few more days this place will have hundreds of seagulls feeding on the rotten fish. This stream is right beside a highway so the gulls after feeding so much can't get airborne so they get hit by passing cars and then the highway is littered with dead gulls. So the old saying is, what goes around, comes around.
In one of the pictures if you look hard you can see the live ones just sitting.

Fishing the Salmon River in NY state for the run from Lake Ontario, the fish are so thick you have to move them with your feet to walk. I guarantee that if you grabbed one a game warden would step out from behind a tree. It is an awesome sight to watch a run upstream.

What no Bald Eagles? They must be getting lazy They line the trees along the rivers in some areas during the winter waiting for the dead Salmon to float by. Good to see the cycle continuing.

Funny enough the eagles stay away until the gulls have had their fill. The gulls will gang up on eagles as there is power in numbers. Then we get to see a photograph the eagles.

I never knew this stuff thanks
How large of a fish are those?
Where is this?

This is my 1st time going to this site ( when salmon run on) so I am not sure how big they get, I saw some 10 and 15 lbs. It is on Vancouver Island.
