Did you try the blow torch method of heating the wood to bring out the colour, can't tell from the photo. Nice combo [emoji106]

That pen does look good! We always take a string and hang our Purpleheart pens out in the sun for a day to bring out the color... and the Hummingbirds like it too! :biggrin:
