Hi;
was at a wood workers meeting last night and they demo'd the tool called MiterSet. It looks like it might be something very usefull when doing segmented work. My funds are low right now so I wasn't able to buy one but have put it on my really should get this list.
Curious if anyone here has one, if they like it or have something that works as good or better.
the web site for this tool is www.miterset.com
thanks.

Mark, I doubt that you could go "wrong" with this one and the price is right, some $30. I use an Incra 3000 miter and it costs wayyyyyy more that this one. Of course the Incra will also do miters at 1/2 degree increments and that's pretty tight. My heart beat changes things at this small measurement ... :)

Let us all know if and when you try it out. :D

Wow.. This is pretty cool looking and will hep set your tools to 1/2 degree too! This just went into my wish list. This is one of those things you see and think "wow... wish I would have thought of that."

Can it really be that accurate? Miters have always been a problem for me. Getting the miter gage set to the slot is the initial problem. If it's not set correctly, nothing after that will be accurate. Like Fred mentioned, a high quality miter set up is spendy. But may be the answer for someone like me. My concerns come to light when I am trying to cut super precise miters for custom woodworking. Often times I wind up resorting to trial and error to find the correct settings. But spending $100 or "more" is tough. Especially now.
Give us a review if you decide to try it.

I also now have a Kreg miter gauge. I bought the Miterset for use with my stock Delta gauge and for my band saw & router table gauges. It works great for me. I've checked it against my precision Kreg and it's dead on. Keep in mind that for table saws you need to heed the information on the web site and in the instructions about your TS setup. The blade must be exactly parallel to the miter slots and the gauge you use must be free of slot slop.
