Hi All,

Has anyone seen or used a miter gauge that can swap out the miter bar for use in a different size track?

I have an older craftsman sander and a delta bandsaw. They both use different size miter bars (5/8 and 3/4). I was wondering if there was a reputable brand out there which made one that can swap out the bars. If so, would that be precise enough to swap back with repeatable results?

Thanks for your thoughts,

Matt

I've been playing with wood since the late 70's and have never heard of such an animal. It could be done but every table slot is a little different in width even in the same width type and you would have to have a precise quick change pivot to make changes in a tolerable exercise. It would be better to have dedicated mitre gauges for each machine.

Maybe you could make something for yourself. Couple pieces of steel cut to size and just drill and tap for the head making sure it is dead center on each bar. Anything is possible.
