A Mistral ballpoint I recently completed developed a crack in the upper barrel, and I need to disassemble the pen. I am physically unable to pull the two sections apart, as the twist mechanism appears to be firmly inserted in the cap finial assembly. I can unscrew the two sections, however, the twist mechanism then remains in the upper barrel. Anyone have any tips on how to proceed without damaging the twist mechanism.

These are very difficult if not impossible to disassemble without ruining at least part of it. I have done it once and don't remember the process. I think I had to replace the finial.
send a message to Beaufort and see if there is a way to do it without harm.
