This was to be my entry for a pen box. Based on a scaled up .50 caliber round. Made of poplar (it's the prototype) step drilled 5/8 then 1 1/8. It is made for a bolt action pen. There is no finish just Beall buffed.

Very nicely done terry. It is a shame that it did not get a chance in the contest. That is a great idea for those ever popular kits. Thanks for showing. Start on next years tomorrow and then put it away and forget it. That is what I am going to do. :)

That concept looks great, but in my mind it cries out for some type of stand or mounting that would serve to ground it visually. Would that be a part of your overall concept? (Just an idea that started bouncing around in my head upon seeing your effort. :))

I didn't plan to do anything else. It stands pretty well. The base is 1 3/8 dia. I will post the drawing with dimensions later today. Feel free to run with the design.
