Missed the deadline so here it is

This was to be my entry for a pen box. Based on a scaled up .50 caliber round. Made of poplar (it's the prototype) step drilled 5/8 then 1 1/8. It is made for a bolt action pen. There is no finish just Beall buffed.

Very nicely done terry. It is a shame that it did not get a chance in the contest. That is a great idea for those ever popular kits. Thanks for showing. Start on next years tomorrow and then put it away and forget it. That is what I am going to do.

That concept looks great, but in my mind it cries out for some type of stand or mounting that would serve to ground it visually. Would that be a part of your overall concept? (Just an idea that started bouncing around in my head upon seeing your effort. )

I didn't plan to do anything else. It stands pretty well. The base is 1 3/8 dia. I will post the drawing with dimensions later today. Feel free to run with the design.
