Here's a couple of mini-twist pens I finished today.

I'll have to look at these kits again - yours are done well. I've made a few pendent pens and didn't like the way the refills were installed. Maybe these are different.

How hard is it to get refills for them?
I don't recall seeing them at office stores, but then again I had no reason to look.

Nice looking pen.... The finish is great, notice how the hot spot from the flash is almost the exact same width from wood-CB-wood. Nice job Ken. What did you change in your finishing technique (if I may ask)??

In the last week or so, I've changed a couple of things. First, I slowed down my lathe. I now turn, sand & finish at 1300rpm. I was sanding at 150, 220, 320, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1500 & 2000 grits. I now sand at 150, added in a 180 grit, and dropped the 1500 & 2000 grits completely. In addition, I now add sanding sealer between 220 & 320 grits, and then again between 400 & 500. I've also starting using the MM (1500 thru 12000). I've stopped using paper towels completely for any finishing, other than just wiping down the blanks between sandings. I use old cut up socks now to apply the EEE, and the Minwax paste finishing wax if that's what I decide to use. If I don't use the wax, I now use the Deft spray laquer. Not big changes, but enough that I've seen better finished results.
